This class develops the foundational skills of comedic improvisation, including agreement and listening. Students will explore character, setting and environment, emotion and other aspects ofimprovising scens. The class culminates ina performance for friends and family. (Ages 18 and up)
The class will be held on Tuesdays beginning May 9 and running through Tuesday, June 27. There will be no class on Tuesday, June 13th.
Note: Following the current CDC recommendation, students and instructors should wear a mask based on personal preference, informed by personal level of risk. Class size will be limited for social distancing. We continue to show vigilance in cleaning and sanitizing our facilities.
Instructor: Josh Rachford
Josh has been improvising since 2004. He’s an alumnus of Amsterdam’s Boom Chicago, where he performed nightly and taught improvisation. He’s also completed the course of study in improv and sketch comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. He directed and toured with arts education group the Story Pirates, appeared in commercials and on HBO’s The Newsroom, and acted in numerous comedy videos with FunnyOrDie and CollegeHumor. Most recently he was a member of Washington Improv Theater’s Wonder Whale and his show “Josh & Co,” where he improvised with a random audience member.
Tuition: $147 Register by May 1 for 10% tuition discount for non members and a 25% discount for members.
