Event Details
In a Galaxy Far, Far Away…Join us for a new take on the classic galactic adventure. Star Wars as you’ve never seen it Shakespeare style. Over the course of two weeks, we’ll stage and bring to life “Verily, A New Hope,” the original Star Wars episode, as it might have been told in Elizabethan London. The saga of a wise (Jedi) knight and an evil (Sith) lord, of a beautiful princess help captive and a young hero coming of age, Star Wars abounds with all the valor and villainy of any of Shakespeare’s greatest plays. Using creative staging techniques and Shakespeare – like language, we will bring to life all the diverse Star Wars characters and explore how a compelling story can be told with minimal scenery and props. “The bard at his finest, with all the depth of character, insightful soliloquies and clever word play that we’ve come to expect from the master.” “Star Was as you like.” (Ages 9-18)
Camp Duration: Two Weeks, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. (The first day of camp is Tuesday, June 20th) The final day of camp will include a performance for friends and family.

Welcome to our Theatre Production class! Through this class, we will be learning the basics of theatre production. We will also be exploring the various elements of staging, such as blocking, choreography, and lighting. The class will end on July 20th with a full comedy production of Back to the 80’s for our friends and family to enjoy. Hold on to your hoverboards, we’re taking a trip Back to the 80s! When modern teen Mary Fitzfry gets sent back in time by an eccentric professor, she finds herself in the middle of a totally tubular cavalcade of 80s pop culture. There’s a lot of familiar faces, from the teens in breakfast-time detention to the guys chasing ghosts and dancing zombies, but the biggest surprise of all is Mary’s own protective mom as a teen. Turns out she’s actually kind of rad – but thanks to Mary’s time travel, she’s in trouble. Can Mary make things right? This adventure takes you from the mall where everything happens, to a suburban sitcom street, to a cave under the high school – and you can choose who to feature from a flexible throng of characters to bring your audience maximum nostalgia. A hilarious parody to make all ages cheer “I love the 80s!” (Ages 7 – 14)

Join Pied Piper Theatre as we mount our first original production, Where’s Wyatt.
In a world of conformity that consists of black and white; Wyatt is a gifted artist with the power of color! Through this devised piece, Wyatt will fight battles, navigate treacherous obstacles and restore balance to the world of Color! Under the direction of Alex Mills and Ashton Schaffer, students will create characters that inhabit new environments and make connections with the world around them and restore color to their world.
What is a devised piece? A devised theatrical piece is an original work that is created collaboratively between actors, dancers and musical theatre performers. It uniquely blends these art forms to create a dynamic and emotionally engaging performance that captivatingly tells a story. By drawing on the diverse talents and perspectives of its performers, a devised piece offers a fresh and exciting take on familiar themes and issues, exploring them with depth and nuance. Whether it’s through fluid choreography, soaring vocals or heartfelt monologues, a devised theatrical piece for young audiences offers a thought provoking and evocative experience that sparks the imagination and inspires self expression.
Show Dates: Where’s Wyatt will be performed at Metz Middle School on October 13, 14 and 15.

At our Dragons and Dungeons Adventure Quest program, students will join a fearless band of adventurers on an epic journey filled with danger, mystery, and excitement. Under the expert guidance of our Adventure Master, campers will have the opportunity to create their very own one-of-a-kind characters, each with their own set of special skills, abilities, and strengths.
Once your student has joined our party, they’ll be taken on one thrilling Dungeons and Dragons-style campaign after another. Our brave warriors will have to take on all manner of dangerous beasts and evil villains, solving puzzles, and overcoming obstacles along the way in order to emerge triumphant and save the day.
If your student loves to explore new worlds, solve puzzles, and battle monsters, then Dragons and Dungeons Adventure Quest Camp is the perfect summer adventure for them!
Live Action Role Play is ideal for imaginative kids. Students play the roles they want to play—in exactly the way they want to play them. They use their imaginations, problem-solving and storytelling skills on a daily basis. Students will participate in interactive, improvisational role-play that encourages them to be physically, socially and mentally active. The only limit to what they can achieve is their imagination!
All students need to bring the following items:
- A full set of polyhedral dice (7 different types of dice.)
- Folder, notebook, mechanical pencil, paper
- 3D miniature figurine (for use in scaled maps of game)
- D&D Players Handbook (5th Edition)
If students do not have the above and are not able to obtain them by the start of class, please let us know as soon as possible. We do have a few of these items we can share with your students. If campers don’t have a copy of the D&D Players Handbook (5th Edition), one will be provided or campers can purchase one from Amazon or a book store to keep. Be sure to bring a water bottle and a snack Ages 9-11.

Over 5 evenings, we will compare the properties of three distinctly different media with guidance and practical application. You will select a reference photo and create three separate works of art based upon that photo; one in soft pastels, one in oil paints, another in acrylics. Through the process, students will learn the basic techniques and supplies needed to get started in these media, and gain a better understanding of their variations in color blending. This class is the perfect overview for the beginner who wants to compare options, and would make a wonderful foundation for portfolio studies for experienced students. Bring some reference photos you find appealing. The instructor will supply choices, too, and advice in your final selection. Materials will be provided via supply fee. For ages 13 to Adult.
