This class is a thrilling adventure into mystery and drama! Students will step into the shoes of detectives, suspects and sleuths and solve a whodunit play. Through rehearsals, workshops and performances, students will hone their acting skills and explore the craft of theatre culminating in a final production for friends and family on Friday, June 17 at 3:30 pm that will leave everyone guessing until the very end.
Our play is called A Virtual Whodunnit by Flip Cobler and Cindy Marcus. Preston Sterling is hosting a Zoom meeting with his children, third wife and closest staff to celebrate his birthday. The bitter old billionaire is bullying everyone once again and threatening to change his will when—ZZZZZT! Sterling is electrocuted through his phone. Enter Sloan, Rockford Sloan, homicide detective. Through a series of Zoom conferences, Sloan questions the usual suspects, all of whom had a motive. With a healthy nod to those famous noir detectives. When every suspect has motive and opportunity, it’s up to our brave detective AND the audience to find the killer. With three possible endings, every performance means you’ll never be sure whodunnit. |
