Our Off the Wall exhibition was transferred to Lockheed Martin after it went down in late January. The exhibit will be on display through the very end of February. The talented students (and teachers) were invited to a personal Lockheed Martin tour, and an additional Off the Wall reception at Lockheed Martin February 3rd. This opportunity is especially exciting considering our new category for this year’s Off the Wall exhibit: ART & TECHNOLOGY!

The tour began with a brief lecture about the importance of the integration of technology and art and how it plays a role in various career fields, particularly the field of engineering. The lecture illustrated the unlimited possibilities of STEAM with examples of pivotal such as Steve Jobs.

Following the lecture, the students were given a personal tour of several labs within Lockheed Martin. Lockheed Martin engineers gave the students a thorough explanation of each lab’s purpose and their daily tasks at the facility.

Everyone that attended the tour was inspired – myself included!

I cannot say thank you enough to Lockheed Martin for not only sponsoring the exhibit, but offering the students such an amazing opportunity!
