Event Details

Looking for a meditative art form that has benefits for almost any age creator? Consider neurographic art!
Learn the process step by step with Cheryl Miehl, Brentsville High School Art Educator and Visual Art Department Chair. Neurographic art combines color, line, composition, and craftsmanship with the science of psychology and brain research. When utilized within an art therapy context, neurographic art is a simple way to work with the subconscious mind through drawing. This creative method stimulates new neural pathways by combining art and psychology. Simply stated, connected neurons process information received, enabling people to interact, experience emotions and sensations, create memories and enable learning. The art technique was created by Russian psychologist, creativity entrepreneur and architect Pavel Piskarev in 2014.  The Caton-Merchant Gallery at the ARTfactory is the perfect setting for this relaxing workshop.  Discover new ways to create beautiful images through this intriguing art form.  For ages 15 – adult.
