Ever see a character in a book, comic, or movie and think “I’d love to dress up as them”? This summer, the ARTFactory is offering an opportunity for you to dip your toes and try your hand at character costume/cosplay creation. This class is perfect for teens 13-18 who are interested in the world of cosplay – creating a costume of a favorite comic book or anime character. Students are encouraged to bring a character concept if they have one or be ready to brainstorm your first cosplay character. The class will run during the weeks of July 11 – 15 and July 18 – 22 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2-5 with a crafty Cosplayer/teacher in the form of Mx. LeeLee King. We will design and create a character with minimal sewing if needed. Students will learn how to create characters’ costumes using a variety of creative supplies and existing clothing pieces. Ages 11-18
Note: Following the current CDC recommendation, students and instructors should wear a mask based on personal preference, informed by personal level of risk. Class size will be limited for social distancing. We continue to show vigilance in cleaning and sanitizing our facilities.
