Rooftop Auditions – The Odd Couple by Neil Simon

Rooftop Productions announces Auditions for The Odd Couple by Neil Simon on Saturday, February 5 and Sunday February 6 from 1 – 3 p.m.

Directed by Ted Ballard, the Tony Award winning play centers around mismatched roommates, the uptight Felix Unger, a neurotic neat freak and his slovenly friend Oscar Madison.  Felix arrives at the weekly poker party depressed and out of sorts after being thrown out by his wife.  Fearing Felix will try something desperate, Oscar, himself in the process of being divorced by his wife, invites Felix to move in with him.  It isn’t long before this unlikely pair are at each other’s throats: Felix frustrated by Oscar’s messiness and insanity for Oscar by Felix’s obsession with cleanliness.

Cast Requirements:  6 males, 2 females

Please be prepared to read from the script.  If you have a one minute comedic monologue, you may do that as well, but it’s not required.  

Audition and Performance Venue:  Kellar Family Theatre at the ARTfactory

Performance Dates:  April 22, 23, 24, 29, 30 and May 1st.

Rehearsals:  Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Audition Form:  Please download, fill it out and bring with you to the audition, along with your headshot and resume.

If you are unable to make either of the auditions please submit a video audition to Kimberly@virginiaartfactory.org by February 5th.

Covid Policy: COVID vaccination is mandatory except with a religious or medical exemption. Anyone who is not vaccinated due to these exemptions or under age for the vaccine must provide weekly proof of a negative COVID test. (PCR testing is required for this weekly proof.) Everyone must wear a mask indoors for rehearsal regardless of vaccination status. Performances will be unmasked at this time.
